    <sub>In the late 1600's, just off of northeastern Cornwall, England, Cyril was raised with alongside his family near the ocean. His father was a well-known fisherman in England who married a Dutch woman despite being promised to another but they were happy and made a profitable living. Growing up as an only child, the boy would run along with some of the village kids to Bodmin Moor, a mysterious granite moorland with plenty of empty land to explore. Each day, they'd wander about but before they left, several  members would warn them about the 'Phantom Cat', a beast that snatched people away or poisoned those who saw it. At first it seemed to be a wive's tail but Cyril felt curious. Something about this myth seemed awfully familiar...as if his family had mentioned it before.

One night, all the kids crept out to search for this cat in the fields, hoping to prove the townspeople wrong . Creeping further and further, it began to grow dark and fog rose up from the ground. No one could see but then a faint light rose near and in moments, Cyril was dragged off, no one daring to help him as they ran back. He had blacked out but woke up in a cave, sitting atop symbols painted in blood. Was he dead? Was this the beast? Soon he discovered that he had been captured by a witch who cursed his father's  bloodline after refusing to marry her, a tradition for the two families spanning several years back. He would've asked how to fix it but with a snap, he was sent back to his house. His parents worried for him and when he revealed what happened, they agreed to travel to the Netherlands to see if they could find a secluded home. He was told to stay out of sight and with that, his parents left...days, months, even years passed and he hadn't heard from them. He had thought they had abandoned him when news got out that the ship they had boarded had been hijacked and all members were killed. Saddened, he realized he was without a family and losing their wealth from the years. He decided to move to America, to seek his fortune.

The ship arrived in Massachusetts and he found himself in the Puritan town of Salem. He got a job as a fisherman but was expected to work ALL THE TIME. They seemed to live by that. No fun. Ever. He got bored fast and over the years developed a thirst for gambling and tricking others. The majority of the town hated him and only those who were sick of the formal life seemed to enjoy his company. During this time, he had learned to hide his ears and tail under clothing but the way he acted and how unusually agile he was seemed off. He practiced his abilities in secret and quickly learned his weaknesses...like Silver. He often refused silver coins and jewelry making him seem even more odd than the rest. Eventually, he met a beautiful girl named Iona. She was kind and had a smile like the sun and he quickly fell in love with her. He didn't realize she was playing him though. Even when she asked for impossibly expensive jewels or dresses. Soon, he revealed his secrets and seeing an opportunity to steal his wealth, she tipped off the towns members that hated him so, saying he was a witch's familiar and needed to be executed. As he slept one night, she snuck off and gathering a group, they bound him in silver chains and put him on trial. Only now did he see who betrayed him  and his beastly qualities were shown to all. He wasn't given a chance. They hated him, loathed him really, and he was hanged on the spot. 

His curse saved him and when the rope snapped, he ripped off the chains and in the night, killed those who had hurt him. He saved Iona for last and finding her, he gave her one last kiss. A kiss that turned out to be deadly as poison and with that, he skipped town, finding calm in his blackmailing and bribing addiction, his new career that'd allow him to travel the world. During a game of poker manymanymany years later, a white-haired man proposed a deal. If he won, Cyril would have to be the English teacher at his school and if the phantom cat did, the man would reveal the value of his cane. Cyril lost of course, but he decided to take this opportunity to start over.</sub>

     Cyril is a bit tricky to understand especially because what he feels is right isn't always. In truth, he's compassionate and adoring, putting his dearest friends first but, he's also manipulative and silver-tongued. He tends to sweet talk every stranger he meets and has learned what it is to be clever. To those he truely likes, especially since he didn't have many true friends, he'll offer loads of his wisdom and treat them with utmost care. Deep down, he hasn't changed and still hates when things are formal. He loves games and does some incredibly childish things and if someone were to ask him something personal, he'd most likely try to change the subject with some joking remark.
